I’ve been feeling slightly nauseous lately, & real tired, just kinda weird i guess… I’m on birth control though & I still have 1 week left of my pills….
is it stupid of me to test AT ALL since I’m on the pill? Could I have maybe tested too early to begin with & should retest again?
(My fiance & I have had unprotected sex a lot but since I’m on the pill I didn’t think I would get pregnant, but every since he saw me sick a few times, he sorta thinks otherwise.. I just think I had the flu for a little bit.. what do u think?)
- thanks ?

I have had asthma since I was an infant. I try not to use my inhaler much(once or twice a month), and I refrain from taking any meds for it on a regular basis. Should I get either the swine flu or the normal, yearly flu vaccine? Or both? I haven’t had the flu in several years, but it was pretty rough.

I am currently unemployed and we have no health insurance coverage. I have the flu for almost a week now and my daughter has started showing some flu-like symptoms as well. Any guidance or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Can a person have symptoms and not a very high temperature and still have it? what if the symptoms are gradually lessening?
I live and Pa and as of tonight their are 226 cases that are either confirmed or probable.
Well there are 75 confirmed and 6 probable in my county and My county has the most cases.Philadelphia has 49 confirmed and 22 probable.
of the rest of the 269 cases that are spread throughout the counties of Pa.25 other counties in Pa are affected so far and besides Berks and Philadelphia the rest have between 1 and 22 cases confirmed.
Tonight the first confirmed death in Pa happens to be in my county 2 hours ago around 8:45 eastern time a 55 year old woman in Berks county Pa. A place where there are a lot of Mexicans who travel to and from Mexico to visit family. Not that at this point that has anything to do with it but out of the 269 cases confirmed . And there are 27 counties with cases altogether in Pa.
My symptoms are a really bad headache that comes on suddenly extremely bad at night when I am laying down. My chest and my head become very congested at night time. My fever is very slight.
I get slight cramps but have a lot of intestinal gas.
I feel slightly nauseous but this comes and goes.
I feel slightly achy but this comes and goes. The feeling of being sick comes and goes through out the day. I have felt sick this way for 3 days but it lessons each day and night slightly. I also have a very bad sore throat that comes and goes. Worse at night.
I went to an emergency care center 2 days ago and they did a throat culture gave me prescription strength IBProfin script and told me to drink lots of fluids. I am still waiting for the test results.
Wouldn’t I feel worse If I had it? Is this a characteristic of this virus?

there’s no vaccine to either. people die from both. not everyone who has gotten swine flu has died. most people who have died from the disease lived in impoverished areas, were very young or very old and their bodies weren’t strong enough to fight off the disease, didn’t have enough money to take care of themselves properly, or had poor hygiene. Is there really much of a difference between the swine flu and the regular flu? Are people worrying too much over the swine flu?

could flu test be wrong?

I am just curious. My son had a 104 temp last night. After a 2 hour wait at the ER, and an hour wait for the dr. and another hr for the test result, they said he didn’t have the flu. When she took the swab from his nose, she looked like she wasn’t sure if it would be enough, but he was screaming his little head off so she just used what she got. Now today he’s saying he has glass in his throat. I am thinking I will take him to his dr tomorrow and request another flu test.
I guess my question is can it take a while for the test to be able to show flu? Or could they not have gotten a good enough sample? Normally I wouldn’t be so worried but now my husband is coming down with it and I am pregnant – and they are saying so much about pregnant women and swine flu. Also a woman my husband works with just got news from her daughters doctor that she has H1N1 so he could hav ebeen exposed. I just want to keep everyone healthy. Thanks.

How are swine flu tests done?
27/12/09
I was just wondering, that if someone has symptoms and believes they have swine flu, when they visit their doctors, how do the doctors test for the swine flu?
Do they take blood tests… or urine samples? Or something else?
Thanks
Patti Petersen
